The Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. They play a vital role in monitoring financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and providing financial insights to assist in decision-making processes. The accountant collaborates closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledgers, balance sheets, and income statements.
2. Perform regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
3. Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
4. Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
5. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
6. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
7. Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
8. Provide financial insights and recommendations to management based on analysis and interpretation of financial data.
9. Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls.
10. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices.
11. Conduct periodic inventory audits and assist in inventory management.
12. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
13. Manage and maintain fixed asset records.
14. Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
15. Provide support and guidance to other departments on financial matters.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
4. Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications.
5. Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
6. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
7. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
8. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
9. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
11. Knowledge of tax regulations and experience in tax preparation is a plus (GST TDS).
12. Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
